What is
Christian Autosports?
In 1969 a group of dedicated Christians in
Originally the club's competitive involvement
was mainly in rallying, motorkhanas, night runs and lap dashes. This has
expanded over the years into other areas of motor sport.
Each month Club Meetings with guest speakers,
films, indoor competitions etc are held to get together, and to conduct classes
to help develop members mechanical knowledge and driving skill. Social
activities include 'Dinners', barbeques, film nights and bowling nights with
some of our best times spent help as officials in the middle of the forest at
some rIdiculous hour waiting for that first car to come through our control.
The Club doesn't set itself up as an alternative to the established church but rather as a way for Christians with an interest in cars to constructively use their skills and interests in God's service.
The Club is non-denominational and membership is open to anyone who is a Christian. Quite often we are asked, "What do you mean by Christian?" God has said much about who is a Christian and to be fair we need to consider what God's Word - The Bible says: -
"There is none righteous, no, not
one" (Romans
"For all have sinned and fall short of
the glory of God" (Romans
Conclusion: I am a sinner.
"For the wages of sin is death." (Romans 6:23)
Conclusion: The penalty of my sin is death (physical and eternal).
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
Conclusion: God through His infinite love has made a provision for my penalty of death to be paid.
"The gift of God is eternal life in
Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans
6:23b)
"For be grace you have been saved
through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works,
lest anyone should boast." (Ephesians
2:8&9)
Conclusion: This provision is a gift to be received. Not something that I deserve or can earn.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
Conclusion: To benefit from this provision I must place my complete trust in the Lord Jesus Christ's death for me.
"But as many as reveived Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name." (John 1:12)
Conclusion: This is a personal matter between me and God. Have you received Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour and Lord?
It is clear from God's Word that a Christian is one who has recognised that his sin has seperated him from God, and in order to get back into the right relationship with God, he has placed his trust in God's only provision for man's sin - the death of Jesus Christ in his place. That is why a Christian is called a believer.
