Following an inspection of the roads at Cataract following the recent heavy rain the roads in the area, we have found the roads unsuitable for the event to proceed.

We are planning a major working bee at Cataract on the 31st March when we hope to correct the damage caused by the rain.

Would all CACA members please put some time aside on the 31st March to assist. We are hoping to have some heavy equipment there to assist with the work. Details on the working bee will be supplied to members once finalised.

A replacement date for the Khanacross will be advised in due course.

Regards

Les Oliver (for Ben Harris Event Director)

By Neil Blackbourn.

With Sydney’s monsoonal weather a great possibility we had a large field of cars and drivers keen to do some skids at the Eastern Creek Skidpan on Saturday.

The first event of the year for the CACA calendar in 2012 saw 38 entrants and 10 come and try competitors take on a sunny start to the 8 tests. With some water spreading issues with the skidpan not totally wet (yet!) some competitors were having issues with knowing what their new cars were doing.

On this the eve of our first event for the 2012 year it is important to outline a few of the changes for our point score to be introduced for this year. Basically the point score for the major events of Motorkhanas and Khanacrosses will be substantially unchanged. The changes will be in areas like the Officials point score, this has been changed to encourage more people to take on these very important roles. Some feel that by taking on officiating duties they may be doing themselves out of valuable points but not so. Officiating will earn you points in the officials point score which can also count toward the Club Championship. It is this championship which is the clubs premier point score because it is composed of all aspects of the club and all activities of the club combined.
